Installation Of Pole

Power Pole Installation Process

It’s pretty simple. Bore out a hole while maintaining the integrity of the ground. The process we have in house is by means of using an auger. Our crane has 4 tonnes of downwards pressure to chew up the ground. This process is known as destructive digging.

If the location of the pole is near critical underground infrastructure, we can organise the services of a non destructive digger. Using high water pressure and a heavy duty vacuum the hole is prepared in an instant without risking the disruption of other services.

We will conduct a hazard assessment before the dig and will notify the relevant person that a NDD (Non-Destructive Digging) is required.

Once the hole is prepared, we will set the pole into the ground. We do not use wet mix concrete to set poles into the ground. We use approved blue metal compound that is tampered into the ground. The tamper compacts the ground around the pole at a rate of 1500 hits a minute

Although every job is different, an individual site assessment is done and the best outcome is achieved for each and every installation

How deep does a pole go into the ground?

The minimum we set a pole into normal ground excluding solid rock is 1.2 meters for a 6.5 meter pole. The larger poles can be set in the ground up to 3 meters.
